$1.4M raised from Scleroderma Sprint
The Scleroderma Sprint is the next step in the evolution of a highly regarded event series led by the Kellner Family that raised over $1,400,000 for Scleroderma research in Las Vegas alone. Those events, hosted at the House of Blues 2014, and Brooklyn Bowl in 2016, quickly became some of the most talked-about philanthropic events of the year. The Scleroderma Sprint is expected to raise the bar again with the most impressive charitable event ever seen in Las Vegas. Hosted by actor and comedian Bill Bellamy, the evening gala will feature a cuisine curated by celebrity chefs including Emril Lagasse, a live auction, and six performances by Spiegelworld, Las Vegas's premier entertainment company that owns the Absinthe, Opium, and Atomic Saloon shows.
Scleroderma Sprint is excited to announce NFL Hall of Famer Barry Sanders as the featured speaker of their event in Las Vegas on October 6, 2022 at the all new Caesars Forum Conference Center. The event will benefit the Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center and bring awareness to undiagnosed patients throughout Clark County and Nevada.
Barry lost his sister, Nancy, at an early age to this devastating disease. Barry says, "The toughest person I've ever known wasn't Daddy, and it wasn't Lawrence Taylor, Howie Long, or John Lynch. The toughest person I've ever known is my sister Nancy, and the toughest thing I've ever had to endure was watching her fight a slow death.”
"Every day, a Scleroderma patient has a new challenge that can be scary, painful, and depressing." Event Chairperson Saville Kellner says, "But seeing Barry's dedication and passion for fighting this disease brings encouragement to so many. We are so grateful for his compassionate fight to help raise money and awareness for Scleroderma."
Scleroderma Sprint's October 6 event will feature "Tailgate at the Track" during the day at SpeedVegas with an exclusive celebrity supercar racing session, live music, Vegas' hottest food trucks, go-kart racing, and supercar ride-along experiences. Hosted by actor and comedian Bill Bellamy, the evening gala will feature a cuisine curated by celebrity chefs and six performances by Spiegelworld, Las Vegas's premier entertainment company that owns the Absinthe, Opium, and Atomic Saloon shows.
Scleroderma Sprint announces October 6, 2022 supercar racing experience and gala at SpeedVegas will feature a cuisine curated by celebrity chefs including Emeril Lagasse, Robert Irvine, Rick Moonen, Scott Commings, and Aarón Sánchez.
Each chef will create a unique dish for the evening that will culminate in a flavorful and diverse menu.
“We are bringing together some of the best chefs in Las Vegas and beyond with the goal of helping others,” said Chef Rick Moonen, Scleroderma Sprint Culinary Chair and Top Chef Master. “We hope that their presence will bring awareness to undiagnosed patients in our community suffering from Scleroderma.”
Scleroderma Sprint guests will have the opportunity to race against select chefs in an exclusive supercar session during Tailgate at the Track, the daytime portion of the event.
“We are excited to create a unique culinary experience for this one-of-a-kind charity event,” said Chef Scott Commings, Hell’s Kitchen Winner. “Our goal is to match the organizer's vision and create an incredible experience to inspire others to get involved in Scleroderma research.”
